In the land of Cvstodia, a curse has fallen, and the main character, The Penitent One, must break this cycle of suffering. Players will explore a dark world, overcoming deadly traps, battling monsters and bosses, and uncovering the secrets of a twisted religion. The gameplay mechanics combine slasher and platformer elements.

Gameplay includes challenging combat, character customization, and exploration of non-linear locations. The developers paid special attention to the combat system. The main character can perform 3 types of attacks, dodge, and parry enemy attacks. There are 6 types of weapons to choose from, ranging from a sword and bow to a mace and spear.
